Explaining SuperNoots

This is the easy part!

1.  Kids use a dry-erase marker on the shopping list to choose foods they like and foods they will try.

2.  You go shopping and fill the pantry and refrigerator with their food choices.

3.  Kids eat the food, then move their magnets on the chart.

What's happening?

1.  Kids get an awesome boost of self-esteem and empowerment when they eat food they choose versus food you pick out for them.

2.  Kids are having a blast!  It's fun and motivating to move magnets!

3.  Kids are learning important stuff about nutrition... identifying healthy foods and their food groups.

4.  Kids are building a strong foundation of healthy-eating-know-how.  They'll be experts in no time, and because SuperNoots focuses on empowering kids, the stuff they learn will really stick.

5.  Less arguing!!!  Let the chart be the 'mean parent.'  Take note...

"But Mommy, I want a Pop Tart for breakfast!"

"Pop Tarts aren't on the shopping list, so I didn't buy any.  You asked me to get oatmeal and eggs, so which of those would you like?  And you get to move a magnet when you finish!"
